The trick is to keep breathing. . .

It's days like today when I have to step back and remind myself that I am universally overwhelmed on the first day of school. That I always, ALWAYS underestimate 1. how capable I am and 2. how dumb 99% of ASU is. This semester is particularly tricky because the majority of my classes are online and my teachers are either teaching while traveling or off campus which makes them hard to size up.

I sat down and finished all my work for this week and next tonight, but I haven't posted any of it yet. Partially because I want to size up the competition, partially because I simply hate having to go first. I'm much more comfortable going second. We'll see how it goes. If no one has anything to say by this time tomorrow then I'm just going to say 'the hell with it' and post it all. Slackers.

Remember how I promised to tell you a story about the bluejeans?

Well it goes something like this:
Earlier this week I was doing laundry. Great big piles of laundry. This was before I broke the dryer mind you. So here I am folding up our bluejeans and sorting them into the appropriate piles. I held up a pair of jeans, and thought, these can't be mine. I looked at the label, they're from the store I shop at, they must be mine. But they're HUGE. I turned to Goose, bewildered, eyes wild with confusion, and said "when the heck did I get this fat?!!". Only they weren't my jeans. They were Gooses. I forgot I bought her a pair from there the last time I went shopping. We burst into wild fits of laughter before Goose punched me lovingly in the arm and said 'Gee, thanks love'. Oops!!!

You know Goose, it's not that she's fat mind you, she's clearly not. She's just got a whole five inches on me height wise which leads to a considerably different waist size. How I didn't notice that they were men's pants I'll never know. But for a few brief seconds I was terrified I'd secretly gotten really fat and nobody loved me enough to tell me. Ha!

Don't worry. I'm still me sized. The size I expected me to be. Whatever size that is. :)
